Production

A production worker helps with the proper functioning of assembly lines in factories and warehouses. On a daily basis, they’re responsible for all the production processes, for example they operate machinery and assemble equipment parts.

Stockroom

Stockroom workers receive materials into the stockroom, issue it to the production or store floor, compile stock reports, and perform inventory transactions on the materials kept in stock. They ensure that quantities in the inventory database are accurate and that orders received into the company are accurate.

Material Mover

Laborers and hand freight, stock, and material movers move materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery trucks, ships, and containers. Most of these movers, often called pickers, work in warehouses, although their specific duties vary. Some workers find products in storage and transport them to the loading area. Other workers load and unload cargo from a truck. When moving a package, pickers keep track of the package number, sometimes with a hand-held scanner, to ensure proper delivery. Sometimes they open containers and sort the material.

Shipping and Receiving

Shipping and receiving workers are integral warehouse workers. The main duties revolve around placing incoming orders on shelves and picking merchandise according to specific customer requirements. Will also monitor inventory and communicate any shortages.

Hand Packager

Responsibilities of hand packagers include receiving and checking incoming pick tickets, locating products using technology, and retrieving orders according to quantity, size etc. ensuring accuracy. This role may also build pallets with orders and position them to loading docks, as well as wrap orders before loading on trucks.
